Certificate in Direct Support Studies
Program Description
Antioch University Santa Barbara and Innovative Learning are proud to be part of the international effort to professionalize the Direct Support Role in the Human Services and Developmental Disabilities Sector. This program is offered through AUSB's Professional and Continuing Education Program. AUSB is fully accredited through the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). All courses within this program have been developed to meet, and exceed the NOHS Community Support Skills Standards. Many of the courses have been approved for continuing education by professional boards such as ASHA, BACB, BBS, and ACSI.
Certificate in Direct Support Studies
This Certificate Program consists of 28 topic areas (equivalent to more than 100 training hours) which have been reviewed and scrutinized by top national and international providers and experts in the human services and disabilities sector. The content is competency tested and learner outcomes are sustainable and optimal as all courses are developed according to a specific and researched learning model.

This DSPS Certificate program is due for release October 1, 2009. Early registration is available as of August 26th, 2009. Any person completing training courses included in the curriculum prior to the release of the full certificate program, whether though Innovative Learning or one of its partner organizations, will be given credit for those courses toward the full DSPS certificate. Discounts will apply in recognition of having completed these training courses.
There are a limited number of subsidized spaces available for the Fall. Full tuition is $800.00 and subsidized Tuition is $500.00.
